0~0 Away @ Home Park….. that’s OK⚽️✅

Draw today not a bad result, we were slightly the better side, but 0-0 was probably about right.

Play Offs….. getting Closer

Frustrating….

Frustrating today, but a point is good assuming we beat Cambridge, (see graph)

Keeping it real…..

  • The remit at the start of this season was automatic promotion
  • Once we’d fucked about for a few weeks appointing a gaffer, the remit unfortunately became top 6
  • If we are in this league next year the remit naturally defaults to winning the league
  • But….. for now, it’s play offs
  • Alex Neil’s 1st Six away games have seen us concede 2 goals, (the previous six saw us concede 14 goals), we’ve lost once in 10 games, we can dig in and draw away from home, (like vs Pompey under Ross), which all of a sudden means winning a home leg 1~0 is a good result ….. we are play off ready 100%, let’s do this……
This time? Yep,100% this time⚽️🔴⚪️⚫️⚽️
Yes, it’s division 3 etc, but assuming we can beat Cambridge at the weekend it becomes a very good point, (see graph).

I missed the game yesterday, I’ve got a feeling we will be going back to Plymouth next month? Bit weird, but having missed out today, in a strange way – I’d quite like a trip to Plymouth next month.

What’s going to happen?

No one really knows, but that’s part of the appeal of football. It looks a pretty safe bet that 1 from Sunderland, Plymouth, Sheff Weds and Wycombe will miss out and the other 3 will be in the play offs. Assuming Sheff Weds beat already relegated Crewe tonight, the standings going into Saturday will be…

Sheff Weds 79 from 43, (Wycombe away, Fleetwood away, Portsmouth home)

Plymouth 79 from 44, (Wigan away, MK Dons home)

Wycombe 77 from 44, (Sheff Weds home, Burton away)

Sunderland 77 from 43, (Cambridge home, Rotherham home, Morecambe away)

There is very little between the goal difference of all 4, if Wednesday give Crewe a good hiding tonight it could effectively be worth an extra point?

Nothing will be decided this weekend, but it’s getting very tense, here’s how things will look Saturday night…..

Working on the basis that Sheff Weds beat Crewe tonight…..

All pretty self explanatory, but with Weds playing Wycombe and Argyle at Wigan, if we can beat Cambridge, (a must win), we should make the play offs with a bit to spare.
