Many,(?), will have enjoyed last nights Accrington Preview, aside from saying that will we smash them on Saturday I didn’t really offer any rationale for this. Given that I’ve got time on my hands and partly because Andrew an Accrington fan from Rishden, emailed me to say I’d been disrespectful to his team, I thought I’d have another go. Always happy to take feedback on board and to be far, given Accrington are 2nd in the league, I can see how predicting a 5-0 rout could be perceived as being arrogant?

I understand why Andrew doesn’t buy into my prediction, but little does he know that, there is a scientific process involved in the predicting of results. Ultimately the Big Graph, will show the basis for the prediction.

The Teams…..

It’s understandable for anyone outside of the SAFC Circle to not know just how good we are going to be this season, we always start the season well and we always taper off and bounce around the play off places, not this year. Having laboured for 3 years, we now have Bayern Munich Keepers, Man City Centre Halves, Neil, Embleton and Stewart have come of age, the only remnants of last years team is O’Nien, (I like him a lot), and Gooch and McGeady, (the fact they haven’t performed, but that the team has, is testament to our progress). Whereas Accrington don’t seem to have any decent players?

Wins = Points = Success

It’s 100% a results business, Accrington have 4 wins and 12 points, Sunderland also have 4 wins and 12 points. Ignoring the fact we’ve had a game less, we are level with them, the table makes this hard to dispute? The application of Scientific Sports Analysis, paints a different picture, (graph*)…… of the 4 teams we’ve beaten, their respective defeats to us represents their only defeat, this suggests we have had a tough start, (albeit early days?). Conversely, Accrington have played a load of shite teams….don’t take my world for it, Embrace the Data…..
