Black Cats head to Blackpool

We head West on Saturday to face a Blackpool team who haven’t lost for ages, (19 games I think?), although they seem to draw quite often, we know only 2 well of the issue with too many draws. Much has been said this week as regards our performance vs Wigan, we were rubbish and deserved to lose, but no point looking back.

As discussed we look frail in defence, the last 4 goals conceded have been from inside the 6 yard box and today’s news that the mainstay of our back line is out injured is a huge blow. Football is an emotional game, I’ve felt pretty negative about our prospects for this season since Tuesday night, but we have 6 games remaining, we need to perform to either push for automatic or not go into the play offs on the bones of our arses. I’ve not given much thought to automatic promotion over the last 48 hours, but there’s plenty that can still happen, Hull and Peterborough’s arses will be chewing caramels and just as it feels 3 days have derailed us…. it shows how quickly things can change. There’s been very little to suggest that we will go to Blackpool and Hull and win, but we could, equally Peterborough should brush Northampton aside tomorrow….. but they might not, just as we laboured at Wigan and Posh did at Rochdale – anything can happen. I’m a great believer whenever you are 1 goal down with 10 minutes to go that, you’ll always get a chance to score, albeit a bigger picture I reckon we will still have a moment when hopes are reignited over the next few weeks.

Wheels off? Or just a pit change?

Early Doors…. 12.30pm Kick Off…

It’s an early start on Saturday, games aren’t being played at 3pm as its Big Phil’s funeral.

Amazing what’s available on the NHS nowadays?

Blackpool FC….

They seem to have had a few 0-0 draws recently, whilst this is a positive given we normally score, it’s difficult to imagine anyone getting nil against us on current form? Word is Agent Embleton has been playing well for them, obviously he won’t play, I’m assuming Gary Madine is injured as he’s not featuring and he’s definitely one of the better players in division 3. Losing your main goal threat is less of a problem when someone else steps up, Jerry Yates is scoring for fun, (not quite Wyke-esque, but not far off).

Jerry Yates – probably the main goal threat?

0-0, (AET & penalties)

#Blackpoolmatters

Every game matters, whilst we were poor the last couple of games, Blackpool are 5th in a dreadful division… let’s go there and win and then go to Hull and win⚽️⚽️🔴⚪️⚫️

KEEP THE FAITH …..
