This is a footie and lifestyle blog. I’m acutely aware of the impact of COVID-19. Away from writing an award winning blog, (**), I work for a charity who’s good work is being decimated. I’ve also taken a fucking massive hit on the company I’m a Director of……

…… in short, writing about football is not comparable to writing about a pandemic? Please stop emailing me about the impact on health, businesses etc, I fucking know!

A huge factor in all of this is how we consume news? Hopefully SAFCBlog can offer some light relief…. if not crack on and visit daily mail online.

Not too worried about the actual match days, there’s lots to do on a Saturday…. it’s the random weekdays checking injuries, team news, reserve fixtures, press conferences, ticket details etc that will really hit home…

The right decision?

Yep – inevitable. No surprises and no complaints. Behind closed doors was never going to work in a country where attending games means evertything?

Some random SAFCBlog thoughts……

At present I write every day about SAFC, with the focus being on the matches. No apologies – I’ll be writing each day, please feel free to not read.

We all have different experiences surrounding football, which is fantastic. SAFCBlog buys a pair of trainers every month, Jan was Adidas Broomfield, Feb was Adidas Amsterdam, tomorrow was due to be the debut of Adidas Hamburg…. not particularly sane behaviour I concede? But…… there’s so, so, so much more to footie than 90 minutes?

Realistically, I’d be surprised if we take to the pitch again before July pre season games? Hey ho….we’ll piss the league next season. Oh and SKYBET….. that £1400 I’ve got on winning the league at 14/1, 16/1 & 18/1, just rolls over I assume?

Panic buying…….

Not quite on the level of paying £3 million for Will Grigg, but idiots are out in force buying bog rolls….. lunacy? That said SAFCBlog is guilt of stockpiling?

Obviously the absence of games will change the dynamic slightly of a media platform that exists to preview and review games?

BUT……. THE BLOG MUST GO ON

Saturday……. the day we, (don’t), play the game…..

I guess the easiest solution is to watch a bit of footie lower down the pyramid? A fundamental element of SAFCBlog is photos, whilst I rely on an idiot with a beard, there’s some seriously good proper photographers out there…..

Will SAFCBlog be posting less?

Any project will throw up challenges, whilst there’s no obligation to read, follow, like, share etc….. the plan is to continue writing daily. In the absence of the 90 minutes, I’m hoping to keep a few SAFC fans sailing on the calm…….

No games….. what’s the fucking point?

Going to sleep on it….. but for each SAFC game called off, (not including tomorrow)…. SAFCBlog plans to travel to said ground and source alternative entertainment.
