5 games remaining of the initial 46, it looks highly likely we will then have another 2 or 3 games to play, the aim of promotion remains realistic, albeit a slight route change. We’d put ourselves in a position where it looked like we might go up automatically, 3 consecutive defeats have almost certainly put paid to that, although we have to keep going, winning the remaining 5 games would possibly see us promoted, I don’t think this will happen but it could.
We are coming to the end of our third season in Division 3, I expected us to go up after one season, most of us did – not because I believe we have any right or entitlement, just that I firmly believed that’s what would happen. Hopefully we’ll get up this season, the recent acquisition of the club by KLD means it is going to get better soon. There’s no point looking beyond the remaining few games of this season, the reality is, in 3 years we’ve never led this league, of the current squad only 2 or 3 are anything more than League one players, the league is crap this year and we are looking like not getting anywhere near automatic promotion. This time last year our previous owners decided not to offer Jon McLaughlin a deal when he was keen to stay…. no guarantees but with JM, we’d have won the league. There will be plenty of time in a few weeks for a detailed post mortem, I’m not sure we are any better under Johnson than we were Parkinson, the trial of Parkinson by Social Media wasn’t something I particularly enjoyed, hopefully Johnson isn’t subjected to the same process if we don’t succeed over the next few weeks.
Its almost 4 years since we decided not to play in the Premier League, it’s all kicking off now re: Super League, it’s abhorrent and sadly the ones who will lose out are the ones who deserve so much better. I can’t really be arsed to comment any further….

It’s very rare we go into a game as 2nd favourites, Hull have done brilliantly over the season, they didn’t look particularly good in either of our meetings this season, but as oft discussed, you get what you deserve over 46 games. 72 minutes….the Lads have put a shift in tonight, it feels a bit like we are in limbo…. I’d expect most of the squad to be released in June regardless of what division we are going to be in next year. We are average, as it happens that might be sufficient for promotion, my gut feeling is it won’t, but I know nothing – I expect that we will line up very differently in August regardless of the stage.
