Just Another Massive Monday – Peterborough Away

It’s all getting a bit exciting now isn’t it, this game has looked key for sometime, a glance at the table only adds to this level of excitement.

Oxford – The Last Word…

They’re not very happy are they? I’m aware of the history, and whilst it’s not something I’d lose sleep over, as captain of the club the celebration of Max Power was probably a little misguided? Sections of our online fanbase would be having fucking kittens if the roles had been reversed.

Rivalry – True or Faux? Game of opinions, but here’s mine….. we are in Division 3 because we weren’t good enough to remain in the Championship, in terms of history, fanbase, facilities we are the biggest team in the league. This is exciting for some of the lesser teams in the league, I wouldn’t say I ever got overly excited about the Premiership fixtures coming out, but I always looked for United, City, Liverpool etc away before I looked for Watford, Norwich, WBA etc, it’s just human nature. Being the biggest club doesn’t entitle you to anything results wise,it can actually work the other way as you become every teams big game. I actually think SAFC do an OK job of being the Big Team, in this league, I know fans of loads of teams and I have no hesitation in telling them they will enjoy their trip to Sunderland and can expect it to hassle free etc. From time time clubs get a bit giddy about playing us, Lincoln and Scunthorpe fans had been watching too many films and whilst Sunderland is a good away day, if you act up it’s also a tough old town if you’re behaving like pricks? The same occasionally happens with managers, Joey Barton & Karl Robinson, are average lower league managers and a visit to Sunderland is a real career highlight for them, this leads to them behaving like dicks and situations like yesterday occurring? This could be perceived as arrogance on my part, it’s really not, the problem is not us being ‘too big’, it’s that some clubs are just ‘too small’. I’ve nothing against Oxford, but any of these smaller teams suggesting we are arrogant etc, could do with looking in the mirror? Anyway enough of those Southern Canoe Loving Nonces…. we’ve got a Massive Game tomorrow.

Peterborough United…

9 games left, this is a tough assignment, but we’ve also got Hull, Charlton and Blackpool, (twice), you’d have to think it’s likely 2 from us, Hull & Posh, equally you’d probably think if it is these 3, the team in 3rd will not win the play offs? Peterborough score lots, they’ve not even been derailed by Toney to Brentford as they pretty much replaced him like for like. I’ve had it in my head for a while that if we could head into this game with a draw being a good result I’d be happy – it might be heart over head – but I’ve gone from thinking a 1-1 draw to a 2-0 win, (please note, I’ve not yet applied Advanced Data Analysis, so a guaranteed score prediction will be online on Monday)

“Cometh the hour……” – SAFCBlog is always mindful to avoid cheap metaphors….. but Monday afternoon could see the Posh Box getting its biggest hammering since the Beckham’s Honeymoon!

So, we’re quite good and they’re quite good, it’s on the Big TV, so hopefully it’ll be a good advert for Division 3, (all relative).

Peterborough… PE1…. 52.5695°N, 0.2405°W…

To most folk Peterborough is famous for being half way between York and London on the train”, there’s lots more that the town can boast….

”Now then, Now then…..”

Peterborough has close links with BBC Nonce and Leeds United Ambassador, (*), Jimmy Savile….

A least they didn’t ask Prince Andrew for a comment?
