Leeming Bar Services – thought of The day #11….

It’s all getting a bit serious on the pitch, so it seems like an appropriate moment for another in the series of the award winning(**), SAFCBlog Travel Special Report……

Getting flooded must be an absolute fucking nightmare? A minor inconvenience in the bigger scheme of things was SAFCBlog had to use the A1 to head north yesterday, rather than the A19.

Not looking for plaudits, (it could actually be argued I’m a fool), as I choose to follow SAFC. Whilst a train to London and an early morning beer in Millers, (RIP The Flying Scotsman…..), is a great day out, SAFCBlog mostly travels to games by road. Given a home game is circa 200 miles round trip and away games normally much more; Motorway Services are a bigger part of my life than they should be? Driving in a straight line, (at no faster than 70mph), is boring, worse still as a passenger drinking ale, the urge to piss oneself is strong.

Donnington services….

On the way home from Oxford last weekend, SAFCBlog visited Donnington….. think, food options, Waitrose, cashpoints, Dyson Airblades, movement sensitive taps, an Indian man selling phone accessories, a man sweeping up….. it was the absolute bollocks. So if Donnington is a trip to the Emirates, we are now bumbling around in L1. Yesterday’s A1 experience saw a trip to Leeming Bar Services…… think Bamber Bridge not Stamford Bridge.

the 1980’s…….

Last week at Oxford I made a joke about Different Strokes, regular match companion, guest blogger and top lad Jamie pointed out he was born in 1997!

I regularly see stuff on Twitter etc, citing how wonderful the 80s were? So, here’s a thought…. if you were an 80s child and you want to revisit, if you are fortunate to be young and are curious about the 80s…… Ladies and Gentleman, I give you Leeming Bar Services.

Whilst Borini, Defoe etc may have been spotted checking in at Seaham Hall, the hotel at Leeming Bar is a bit Steve Parkin…….

2 huge games this week… perhaps SAFCBlog should be focusing on the games? Should we bollocks…..

We are playing well of late and winning games. This negates the need for childish nonsense… ultimately most of us who follow SAFC up and down the country are used to Saturday just being a laugh?

A man with his head in the boot of the car, a man who can’t shut his boot etc aren’t funny as a stand alone situation..,,. But on a Matchday, it’s comedy gold?
