Man City 2 Sunderland 2 decent games revisited — “Another day in Paradise” sang the drummer from Genesis….”Coffee and TV” sang Blur….

They are both from the South, Oasis sang, “Cigarettes and Alcohol” and they are from the best city in the world…. Manchester. In short it’s better up North than it is down South. I love a trip to Manchester, but this one is with trepidation as we’ll get absolutely hammered….

It was indeed a lovely evening, the polar opposite of our first attempt to play the game……

“Held to a draw?????”… they equalised in stoppage time!

A draw was a remarkable achievement, but you’d have to think it’s not enough? In 3 days we travel to Chelsea, who haven’t lost in the 77 homes games since Jose returned. I’ll write about that at the weekend.

Connor Wickham has not achieved his potential, but just as the goals of Edin Dzeko fired City to the title, the goals of Wickham kept us up.

The escape under Gus really was The Greatest Escape…. I’ll never forget those few weeks. The 1-0 win at Old Trafford a few weeks later was the most perfect performance I have ever seen from Sunderland.

I’ve watched the following video loads of times, I’ve posted it a few times…. but no apologies, it is just beautiful.
