Part of the dossier I sent KLD focused on Key Areas of Opportunity, most people will agree we, concede too many free kicks, are shite at corners & get caught on the break? Highlighting it is one thing, scientifically analysing the data and providing solutions is another thing altogether. Over the next three match days I focus on these 3 Key Areas of Opportunity….
- Getting caught on the break, the defence has been great of late. The win 4-0 win at then leaders Lincoln was a great result, we were actually caught out twice on the break at 0-0, we didn’t concede thankfully. Last Sunday Tranmere almost scored from our corner, at Accrington the other night we again nearly conceded from our own corner at 0-0. We’re going to get punished for this at some stage?
- I’m totally on board with Sanderson going up for corners, he’s big, he’s a handful and he scored the other week. Your CH being a temporary attacker has it’s pitfalls as he can’t then defend a break, having looked, (scientifically), at the data, this could be solved by telling Scowen or Winchester to stand at the back when we have a corner, neither of them could score in the Bigg Market during Freshers Week anyway and they are both qualified to boot the ball out. Delighted to be ahead, to be fair there wasn’t much between the teams, but…. we are ahead. Lincoln look half decent, they also look good whenever they get the ball wide, plenty of work still to do, but so far so good, if we can keep a clean sheet til 65mins, the strength of our bench should see us home? I guess every game is big now, but this feels huge, Peterborough home and hosed at Rochdale, we need to keep winning, we can then agree a draw with Peterborough, Hull are shit and that should be job done?
