MFC 1 vs SAFC 0 – A Brief Late Night Review

Hugely frustrating evening and it’s late, so I’ll keep it brief and revisit tomorrow.

Middlesbrough

  • It’s not far
  • Unless you want a haircut or a takeaway, the town centre offers nothing of note

Pre match

Managed to get a beer behind enemy lines, fairly evident they don’t like us much do they? Undoubted highlight was a woman filling a pint glass with gravy from the carvery condiments station, and then drinking it from said pint glass. Too scared to get a photo, but I’m sure you can imagine what she looked like?

The Match

Amended team news delivers a huge blow, as the Highland Haaland is out, having got injured in the warm up

FIRST HALF….

  • Crap, we really miss Ross Stewart
  • Soft goal

SECOND HALF…..

  • We were much the better team, but lacked a cutting edge
  • It felt as if we’d score we didn’t
  • There’s some good teams in this division, Middlesbrough aren’t one of them
  • Hugely frustrating evening

POST MATCH…..

  • I’ve not, (to date), been in charge of policing a high profile football match, but there’s got to be an argument for removing knobheads who spend the 90 minutes goading the away fans?
  • The role of ball boys is to retrieve the ball, not act like complete twats
  • I understand this is a high profile fixture, but there’s an argument that kettling away fans in a car park with lines of riot police and vans, exaggerates and extends the situation?
  • If we’d been allowed to leave at full time, I’d have been on the A19 ten minutes after the game, rather than dodging missiles, (coins, bottles, traffic cones etc), and getting pushed back into the car park for 30 minutes or so after the match?
  • It’s a difficult one, but it does feel like it plays into the hands of the mob mentality, just let us go home, there might be the odd flashpoint, (for those of that persuasion), for a few minutes, but lines of riot police just create a situation for the hundred yard heroes?

SAFCBlog Photography Update

Industrial shithole lends itself to being easy to take pictures, but better performance tonight, so much so, I can announce an unchanged line up for Millwall on Saturday….

Shoe Watch….

Last week = Shocking
This week = better, (just)

Frustrating evening – probably deserved a point?

Wasn’t to be tonight, we go again Saturday⚽️ FTM
