Strange one really as the League is obviously our priority, that said I’m a great believer in winning every game, given we are at the semi final stage it would be foolish to say the game doesn’t matter. If we’d lost on Saturday I’d have been viewing the game as an annoyance, having won well at the weekend, it feels a completely different scenario, rather than feeling like a game we could do without, it now feels like a chance for O’Brien, Neal, Diamond, Jones etc to throw their cap into the ring for a starting place. There’s no reason not to play Burge, if we don’t surely it has to be Patterson ahead of Matthews, it’s probably an opportunity to give Patterson game time, but what do I know?
So if we are working on the basis that we want to win every game, the aim is to win this cup however shit it is. Whether it would count as breaking our Wembley Hoodoo is questionable given no fans will be in attendance. We did of course gain a half share of the trophy a few years ago when 120 minutes couldn’t separate us and Portsmouth, but I guess winning it outright would be nice.
There’s loads to miss about not going to the match, it’s almost a year since the last game I went to, this time last year if I was to envisage not attending a game for 11 months I’d have assumed I was dead or in prison. Alive and free the thing I miss the most is a London Away Day…..
Whilst the delights of The Flying Scotsman and it’s £1 coins in a pint pot to precede the entertainment are no more, SAFCBlog has left those days behind and is fully committed to being a woke snowflake, but fucking hell man…… the state of some of those exotic dancers – it would be like throwing a sausage in a bucket? A football day in London is brilliant – there’s nothing better.
