We are away at Portsmouth on Saturday, it’s a long way – I’m at a time of life that the distance means less to me than Vienna does to Midge Ure….I’ll be there Saturday with 2450 others, no doubt loads more will be there in spirit 👍

Portsmouth FC….

Like ourselves, they are in Division 3, it’s not that long since they won the FA cup – sadly mismanagement is not a good thing for football clubs – Like ourselves they will stake claim to not being a division 3 team, they probably, (like us), feel they should be in the top tier? It’s a results business – this is our 4th season, (think it’s their 5th?)…. Results business, table doesn’t lie etc There’s plenty of talk of us having a rivalry with them, I get that – they are a big club and realistically division 3 ain’t the preferred hangout of big clubs?

Ordinarily I’d guess that a draw would be a good result? They aren’t in great form – realistically we are in great form, I really fancied them this season after the appointment of the Cowley’s, (more than I fancied us). 9 games in and I’m convinced we are on the right track? But….. I’ve said that before. I’m really surprised how poor they have been this far
