the new season starts soon….the EFL deemed not to bother finishing last season….great if you’re 8th and playing shit as you can still get promoted…..less good if you’ve won 3 on the spin and the form team and you get relegated….bag of shite for most, including us. Anyway in 18 days we go again……
PANDEMIC ALERT…… CUP FEVER!!
Drawn to play Hull….. no point whatsoever, we ain’t going to win the cup and it just distracts from our procession to the Division 3 title. Sadly, the priority in cup games is….. not losing to a team of bus drivers.
Fixtures Friday…..
I’ve never been a huge fan of the fixture release…. we play everyone twice and I’ll go to them all, any SAFCBlog interest is purely logistical…… London aways on a Saturday please and ideally nothing South West on a Tuesday night.
Not Going Away…..
Not big, not clever, not recommended….. but whilst we are not allowed in grounds, SAFCBlog will just have a day on the piss in the town where we are playing. Football is great, but it’s 90 minutes, there’s absolutely no reason to not…. skull breakfast beers…..bumble around service stations…..purchase a kebab in said town?

We’ve got 18 payers… realistically we need to start the campaign with 2 decent keepers. Defence is decent, midfield is ok, I genuinely believe that Wyke and Grigg will get a combined total of 40+ goals next season.
included in the 18 are…. Grant, (passionate, keen, probably too old, but potential to be a great influence in the dressing g room), and McGeady, (clearly a knob). Phil will know we are a bit light in the squad. Embleton and Diamond may to come to the fore in the way Maja did? Or they may go on loan to Grimsby and then go to Blackpool on a free like Robson did? Really hoping that Jack Diamond makes the step up…seems a nice lad and obviously got talent, but more importantly, it’s a great name for writing low quality blog titles.
