SAFC 1 vs Stoke City 5, Absolute Fucking Nightmare

Absolute shitshow yesterday, the quality of this blog has no issue reflecting the quality of the performance yesterday, I’ll replicate the effort shown by the players by keeping this very brief.
43’000 yesterday- this season has been mostly decent, yesterday was the first time I’ve left a home game early this season, 0-6 at Bolton, 1-5 at Rotherham, 0-3 at Wednesday, 1-2 at Cheltenham etc had become a distant memory? We go again on Sunday at Norwich at noon, (cheers SKY).

The game….

Was always going to be a big call not wearing the Hugo Boss Gilet that Mrs M got you for Christmas Tony?

0-1, 0-2, 0-3, 1-3, 1-4, 1-5

Utterly incompetent referee, we lost the game because we were shit, that shouldn’t retract from possibly the worst refereeing ever seen in the 1st half, pathetic

Alex Neil

We all know the script, he gave us the most wonderful day, he fucked us off, he’s a dick, no benefit in dwelling on this any further, I hope he stands on a plug and his rabbit dies and he can’t sell the hutch.

The next 4 games

6th, 2nd, 5th, 1st…. This could get much worse before it gets better?
More SKY games, 3 aways in a row with stupid kick off times, Norwich on TV at noon is a ball ache, our next away at Burnley is also on TV, but having to stay in Manchester on a Friday night is less of a ball ache….
Noon? Sunday? No problem⚽️

Hull on TV at 5.30pm on Good Friday is a major ball ache….

“When you’re playing in Sunderland vs Hull at 7pm….”
“……. and you’re meant to be in Hull at 7.30pm”

Moving forward….

It’s a simple formula that goals = wins = points, (no graph required), not having strikers somewhat negates our goal threat, I feel sorry for the lad from Leeds, he’s probably quite good playing off a Number 9, playing on his own up front will only destroy his already damaged confidence.

The midfield were terrible yesterday, yes we miss Corey Evans, but 1 player, (and he’s not a world beater), being absent shouldn’t turn the whole midfield to shit?

The defence has been good this season, bad day yesterday, but when the midfield is so poor, the defence is always going to be hopelessly exposed.

Patterson was horribly exposed, it’s a shame his point blank save before the 4th goal wasn’t in a closer game on a different stage, as it was an incredible save and will never be rerun, (a bit like the Pickford save 20 seconds before the France winner in the WC).

All in all, just a bad day, anyone unfortunate enough to watch us lose 5-2 at Ipswich under Grayson, will be as baffled as I am that Jason Steele yesterday kept a clean sheet in the Premiership!

KEEPER !!!

There’s little doubt that this season will now fizzle out? Mowbray has been hung out to dry by our inability to have strikers at the club, Ellis Rico Simms is sat on the bench at Everton, we need bodies, Jay Matete and Jack Diamond may not be the answer, but they are as well giving us an option rather than being Plymouth and Lincoln’s best players? Bring them back….

Jack Diamond, (right)

SAFCBlog is based on positively, this time last year we were in a crap place with no indication that things would ever get any better, difficult day today for the lads, but we are in a good place, these things don’t happen overnight, but the future is looking more positive than it has for ages. We go again next week, we obviously need to make a few changes, but nothing that can’t be achieved, I’m 100% on board and 100% sure that we are headed to the promised land❤️⚽️ Keep the faith ❤️How we get there? We will, we definitely will, 100%❤️

  1. Jack diamond wouldn’t improve the side. I think mowbray tactics were all wrong Alex Neil had a game plan and did a job on us. Mowbrays hands are tied the board cocked up big style not bringing in a striker in the window.its as if they had accepted we wernt ready for promotion this season. Connor Wickham would have been a good addition a target man to hit where is the thinking in this boardroom the fans back you to the hilt and you give them nothing but disappointment season after season
