They’re all big games, but given Accrington are 2nd, I guess this is a Big game? It’s a results business and the 90 minutes is all that matters, that said I live a fair hike from the SOL, so I like to treat the journey as part of the experience….
Steady drive North, sadly the idiot in the passenger seat failed with his one job of taking pictures, (one fucking job, that’s all!), until reminded of his duties when we were about 5 minutes from the ground…..

- German goalie…. Probably had no chance with the goal. It’s his first game, so don’t want to overly critical, but he looked shaky, kicking not great and didn’t seem to know when to come off his line, that said….. 1st game with the team and to his credit, he took a great cross late on when he knew he was going to get clattered. 5/10
- Winchester….. brilliant game 9/10
- Flanaghan …… another solid performance 8/10
- Cirkin….. better than Hume, I was going to say 7.5, but I’ve just seen his saving header on TV after Doyle’s rare error8.5/10
- Doyle…… bonkers that he’s 17? Actually made his first error of the season today, but fucking hell he’s good 7.5/10
- McGeady…… decent today, he’s ultimately playing in a division lower than his talents. Twice in the first half Gooch failed to deliver a simple ball to create a 1:1, when McGeady had the chance he rolled it into the path of Winchester to score without having to break stride, he’s just a bit better than other players in this division. The weight of the pass to set up Winchester was akin to Pele’s pass to tee up Carlos Alberto for the greatest goal ever in a World Cup Final…..

- Gooch….. he’s not having a good season, I prefer McGeady on the right – although Gooch on the left really highlights how bad his left foot is? Bizarrely a positive of him being out of form is, for a few years if he’s not played well, we haven’t played well, we no longer have this reliance on him. 5.5/10
- Neil…… 19 years old, massive SAFC fan, stunning goal, got magic in his boots 9/10
- Embleton ……always busy, not his best game, Blackpool loan has seen him come of age – he’ll have better games, but he never seems to have a crap game 7/10
- O’Nien….. decent as always not sure but I think he dislocated his shoulder again early on and just popped it back in? 8/10
- Stewart……. Every time I see him, I’m more impressed with him. His hold up play, touch and movement are all class, a real shame he fluffed his lines when he had the chance to score. I’ll be honest, I didn’t see anything last season to suggest he was the answer….. his application and performance so far this season has shown I know shit all, 9/10 & SAFCBlog MOTM
