SAFC Starting 11
We’re on a good run, aside from the odd enforced change, the SAFC starting 11 has been pretty consistent since the turn of the year. There’s lots of positives associated with this, continuity, understanding between players and not least; if it isn’t broke, there’s no need to fix it? A few of the lads have looked a bit leggy the last few games, so I reckon we might see a couple of changes on Sunday?
Game of Opinions…….
Our management team are doing a fantastic job, whereas I write a shite blog…. so I guess their choice of the 11 is probably the best one?
That said…. opinions and talking about footie is one of the best things about being a fan. By the same token that Phil and Steve aren’t capable of blogging and buying decent shoes….. I’m not able to manage a football team – we all have our respective skill sets?

Team news for Sunday……..
GOALKEEPER
Simples, Big Jon is at his brilliant best. Credit to new GK Coach Lee Butler

DEFENCE
Ozturk, Willis and Flanagan to continue, with a Luke at right back. I would however replace Hume with Declan John.
Denver Hume has been a real success this season, he looks like he may benefit from a rest. I’ve said before he’s currently raw, but will go on to a higher level – he’s a key member of the squad, but I wouldn’t play him on Sunday. He’s better going forward than defending, Sunday will be a tough battle – Oxford was a war and Denver went missing a little bit?
So…. Declan John in for Denver Hume
MIDFIELD
Power and Dobson to start. Big decision, but….. I’d bring Scowen in for Gooch! The lads I sit with often say, if Gooch plays well, we play well. He’s scored some great goals and some vital goals, but he’s been poor, (by his standards), the last 2 games. I obviously don’t know, but I think he was about to be taken off vs Rovers before he scored? He has lots of skill – to reiterate the previous point, Sunday will be a battle. I just think that Josh Scowen is better suited to the game?
So……. Josh Scowen in for Lynden Gooooooooooooch
UP FRONT……..
Needless to say Maguire plays, hard to say his position as he has covered every blade of grass in recent games.
Charlie Wyke has been class recently and is the epitome of our improvement in terms of fitness, desire, attitude and effort. Only the management will know if he would benefit from a rest? So it’s either WYKE or LAFFERTY

I’ll leave it the better judgement of Parkinson, but perhaps we may see a few ch-ch-ch-changes on Sunday?
