SAFCBlog #991 – Blackpool, Ellis Simms etc

Wall to wall footie this week and another local game, what’s not to love?
Piece of piss > just turn left and stop at the sea

Blackpool

MCLF – not very good, but my favourite football blog.

I know quite a few Blackpool fans, whilst we’ve been through the mill with that short armed prick from Oxford, they really did have a shite time, 100% respect to all of those who boycotted home games – not easy to do, but 100% the right thing to do 🧡⚽️ Good will always win🧡⚽️

“It’s always the ones you least expect……”
I prefer to look forward rather than back, (we can’t change the past, but we can shape the future), but this is my 7th trip to Bloomfield Rd, (3 with York and 3 with SAFC), Played 6 > Won 6 > Goals For 18 > Goals Against 3.

The Omens are good?

This little fucker still terrifies me.

SAFCBlog Predicts…..

  • Their form is shite
  • Our form is good

So…… BFC 1 vs SAFC 3 ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Plans

Non stop footie at present, so busy week of writing shite planned,
  • Tuesday, Match Report
  • Wednesday, review of 2022
  • Thursday, 5 game review, games 21-25
  • Friday, taking dogs to the beach, so can’t be arsed previewing Shrewsbury, not even sure I can arsed to go, (almost a reserve game and right bastard to get to), might just sit in my pants and watch it⚽️🐶🪑🔴⚪️⚽️

Ellis Simms

By all accounts this was inevitable after Everton’s disastrous Boxing Day defeat. I don’t know a great deal about Everton, but they don’t look in a good way? Simms did OK for us, his best game was his first game, I’m not sure he uses his physicality as well as he could, he can finish, but he does sometimes look like a Labrador trying to trap a balloon? Good luck to him at his parent club, I’m not sure he is good enough for this league, (at present), game of opinions etc, so I definitely don’t see him as being ready for the PL? Everton are clearly in disarray, I suspect they’ve seen the results in the paper and noticed him scoring twice this week, if they were to watch us play, Simms is not the one of our strikers that they would be after?

The Highland Haaland

Ross Stewart, (left)
  • He is categorically the best striker in this division
  • He will score goals at any level
  • He scores goals > goals win games > winning = points/success
  • The much documented wage structure, keeps getting mentioned? Bollocks to that, he has a value, just pay him it, someone else will if we don’t? If any players / agents chelp, they are welcome to perform to his level and earn the same wage?
  • Just as it’s easier to keep customers you already have, than it is to attract new ones, Wwe should be in the chair as regards keeping him
  • If he goes to the PL, fair dos, if he goes to a club in this division – that’s unacceptable and irresponsible from the club
  • Lots of talk of Rangers too, think they’re skint anyway, but that would be a catastrophic move, he’s 26, he can go there at 36 and score a load of goals against tinpot scotch jobbers

Let’s just pay him and reap the benefits eh? It’s that simple.

2023

Looking forward to seeing in the New Year with a bang in Blackpool, see you there ⚽️💥🔴⚪️⚽️ Any guest photos welcome, just DM or safcblog1@gmail.com (Garry, they are lovely cows and I like your tractor, but it’s match pictures I’m after really 🚜 🐄🥊⚽️)
