We are about to embark on our 4th season in Division 3, regardless of expectations, hopes, entitlement etc – that’s absolutely fucking shite! Being positive most of the players have gone, slightly less positive analysis is that replacements are thin on the ground, but…. don’t worry, everything is in hand……🔴⚫️⚪️
Horses For Courses……
Slow start to the recruitment process, but that’s ok – better than just signing a load of shit because they are available? Evans and Pritchard should boss division 3, no guarantees, but I’m confident. Realistically anyone playing for SAFC in this division is at the biggest gig they will ever play at?
Data, Data…. High Voltage
We’ve been shite for a while, mostly due to criminal mismanagement from the top…. Our academy was our strength, Mumba, Greenwood, Hugill…. Selling the family silver can line your pockets briefly, but it’s really not the way forward. The ideology is we are now buying on data, whilst I’d like to see a graph, this has to be good? Much has been said about signing ageing players – that’s fine for; realistically whatever the long term vision is, stage 1 is getting out of division 3, once achieved we go again.
The Management…..
As I’ve said lots, I’m at best unconvinced,, my take last year was promotion would be in spite of LJ, rather than because of him? But…. The initial remit of promotion from division 3 is doable, thereafter it gets tougher, my main concern is it’s too bigger job for LJ, but promotion this season ain’t a huge job, and maybe, just maybe…. Come august 2022, it may not be too bigger job for LJ. On the off chance that anyone reads this shite regularly, you’ll know I’m firmly against changing gaffer every 10 months…. KLD has backed LJ, I’m onboard with that🔴⚪️⚫️
Pre season games….
Normally they are shite unless they are in Portugal or Germany, on Saturday we play Hearts, (scotch equivalent of Preston North End)…. Edinburgh is a mint day out, but no tickets ….. we then play at York and Harrogate. I’ll miss the york game as SAFCBlog will be away on warm weather training in Fife🏌️♂️- will take in the Harrogate game though…. Match reports of some type will be online as per usual.
