What Not To Wearside…
More of League 1 later as it happens, big day for us tomorrow though, I’m pretty confident of winning, but the big question centres around What Lee Wears. It’s been a chaotic few years on Wearside, following the wardrobe of Jack Ross was always going to be a impossible task, Parkinson didn’t even try – Lee Johnson has had a strange first few months, at Bristol he always looked smart, huge surprise when he just opted for shit Nike Club Wear….
After a few months it became clear he’d been waiting for his clothes to be delivered to his new NE abode?
Then something very strange happened……
Sunday Best…
No idea what to expect tomorrow, the managers normally wear suits at Wembley – but I don’t see any reason why they have to? Jack Ross will probably look back on his tenure at Sunderland and rue too many draws, the sale of Josh Maja and his Wembley Wardrobe? Wembley can affect even the coolest of the cool, Ross was faultless….
Jack won’t need me to tell him, he just got it horribly wrong at Wembley vs Portsmouth…
Despite a smart start to 2019/20 Jack never really recovered from Wembley #1, he had a mare at Sheff Utd in the cup, but I genuinely think he’d not planned his wardrobe as he thought he’d be sacked after the Bolton game? To go from Camel Merino V Neck to shit tracksuit in 3 days is hard to explain otherwise?
So Lee….
Big day tomorrow, First Up, Best Dressed?
Today’s League 1 Action…
Ultimately it’s our own results that will define our season, but obviously if the teams around us drop a few points that’s a bonus. It’s been pretty tight at the top all season and remains so…
We are still to play the 3 teams above us, Portsmouth were crap the other night, Ipswich will surely improve under Paul Cook, Doncaster looked dreadful in both games vs us this season, but remain strongly placed, Blackpool are in form and have loads of games in hand, they play Fleetwood today who were piss poor recently at the SOL. Basically….. it’s up for grabs!
10 minutes….. decent game thus far. Our SAFSEE coverage has improved since our billionaire owner bought a load more cameras, I also enjoy our commentary team. This is fucking bizarre watch though, the blokes commentating are watching the game not the stream, (or a bit of both as you’d expect), so rather than commenting on the pictures and replays, they are talking about Morecambe getting a free kick vs Newport – it would royally piss me off to hear that Boro had a corner when I’ve paid £10 to watch Sunderland – I’ve occasionally watched the watch along thing that www.Janestuart.co.uk does – it’s a really decent watch, no wonder it’s so popular, couldn’t be doing with listening to these clowns every week? If I’d paid £10, (I have), to watch Blackpool – I’d expect a proper rose tinted, biased Blackpool view on things?
half time….. good game, Fleetwood nowhere near as bad as they were against us, lots of us are struggling with barbers being closed, but Blackpool have some right barnets! They’ve even got a player called Dougall who looks like Dougal…
It’s quite interesting watching a game impartially, the Blackpool keeper looks like an accident waiting to happen…. then the BBC Radio Lancashire bloke says he’s the skipper! Highlight of the day so far comes on 55 minutes when the commentator announces, I’m loathe to use a cliche…. brilliant, I’ve heard every cliche going thus far and even learnt a few new ones!
75 minutes…. Blackpool been decent 2nd half, should be ahead but still 0-0, very strange commentary team – their whole patter is basically, you’re watching TV – but we are on the radio…
full time 0-0….
Decent watch, Blackpool should probably have won, it ended a draw…
Wembley tomorrow…
