The New Normal….
It’s been a mental 18 months, absolutely bonkers; thankfully normality seems to be coming home to roost. We all have different lifestyles, make different life choices, but for me, last night felt more of a normal Tuesday night than I’ve had since March 2020….
Journey South…..
MK Dons away is planned as a day on the Johnny Cash, last night SAFCBlog was once again behind the wheel.
3.45pm …. Pick up bearded idiot
6.01pm…. Arrive in Burslem
6.05pm….. Teatime
Burslem is a strange place, we headed to a kebab shop who’s name I can’t remember, £4.50 secured a tremendous evening meal. A chap called Abdul was most helpful, he didn’t know what division Sunderland are in, but I like that in spiced lamb custodian, he told us he was a Man Utd fan, going for full on Bantz, I asked him how he thought they’d do this season…. He said he was hugely confident… top 4….. wow, how the mighty have fallen? (Manchester United, not Abdul)
The Game was Yesterday…..
SAFCBlog continues to hold down a job, (of sorts), away from writing a multi award winning, (**), blog. During lockdown I was able to post match reports 5 minutes after the final whistle, this offered loads of positives…. Not leaving the house, no requirement to wear recognised trousers, no diesel costs etc …. Those were the fucking days? Got home from somewhere near Stoke at 1.05am and was at the tip at 8.10am…. Bring on the Old Normal???
GAME ON…..
The Game….
About 30 minutes – Diamond misses an open goal
40 minutes – great work from Pritchard and Hawkes smashes home 1-0
HALF TIME…..
2nd Half……
Never a penalty in a million years, the ref gives us a penalty ….
ended up 2-1, job done….
3 Sleeps……
And we head to Newport Pagnell Dons away….. see you there…. FTM⚽️🔴⚪️⚫️⚽️
IMAGINE……
no trains back last night, about 1000 SAFC in attendance….. just imagine if we are ever good……
It’s pelanty not penalty man, that’s what Waddle says anyway.
