Yesterday…..

Aside from the first 25 minutes I though we managed the game pretty well yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised by how toothless Portsmouth were. I regularly read an excellent Portsmouth blog written by a guy called Ryan Stillwell, (a really good read and miles better than this shite),I also have a Pompey supporting pal, (who came to the game with us yesterday), reading and listening to their thoughts, it would seem yesterday’s performance was fairly Typical Portsmouth.

Pitch Imperfect…..

Our pitch….. it’s a wet, muddy mess – it’s playable but it’s shite. Despite the lack of grass, surely we can get it flat? When we played at Tranmere 2 years ago, it was 80/20 mud over grass, but at least it was flat mud, surely we can create a flat playing surface?

Big Clubs in League 1…..

Ourselves and Portsmouth are proof that it’s a tough gig, I suspect Sheff Weds will be concurring with this in 3 seasons Time? Much was made of the appointment of the Cowley Brothers, from afar the impact seems to have been,limited? Expectation is high on the south coast though, whilst at Lincoln if Danny Cowley got them playing well and winning the odd cup final against us meant all was well, I guess at Portsmouth it’s promotion or failure?

Sunderland and League 1…..

If we’d have been braver at Wembley in season 1 under Jack Ross we’d have beaten Charlton, it would have been a 1 season stay in league 1 and we could be looking at it as a blip /distant memory? We might even be looking at it fondly?

It was quite nice to not have to listen to that stupid fucking bell for 90 minutes yesterday, he was there – just didn’t seem to have his instrument….

When I went to Fratton Park in October, we had to go through all manner of checks on a flag I had with me, (fire safety certificate, no metal fasteners etc), I didn’t attempt to enter the ground with a handheld bit of wood with metal attachment – but I wouldn’t expect to be allowed to enter the ground with said item?

Are We Getting Promoted?

Huge result yesterday, we are in the mix, when we got destroyed at Rotherham I thought they looked nailed on, although they’ve recently lost at Accrington and Fleetwood, Wigan should now win the league, we have every chance of coming 2nd

Plenty of football left…. Beat Rotherham at home and that becomes 4 points ahead and 2 games, (that’s about par?)
Fuck all to fear in February? Game on!
