Saturday revisited and how to beat Wigan

Swansea….

I’m still pissed off, we made them look good first half, we battered them second half, the referee was an absolute disgrace. The obvious solution to our current issues would be a fit Stewart or less so Simms playing up front, but that isn’t currently an option. I haven’t watched the U21’s yet this season, but there must be a striker worthy of a place on the bench at least? If not, what’s the point of reserve team football?

Whilst I’m a huge advocate of never looking back, it is important though that we do learn from this, I feel sorry for Pritchard as he’s being run into the ground and spends 90%, (of his 75%), of the game chasing a lost cause. We were good at Reading and Watford and good in the 2nd half on Saturday, the 2.5 games in-between we were shite, we cannot play that system vs Wigan?

Dear Sunderland Echo, if you’re going to take covert photos, can you try and do it when I’m breathing in and not looking at my phone…… perhaps all photographers are shite after all?”

Service Station News

“Step aside Peterborough North, you’d have to say that Hopwood was in pole position for this seasons award, (which I won’t get round to doing).

Driving on the motorway is boring, when you follow a northern team in a national league, the reality is that the motorway miles are going to add up. Historically service stations were much of a muchness, the floor at Hopwood is tremendous, we can go again for Cardiff in in the FA Cup potentially vs Forest Green, Newport or Bristol Rovers.

Usual overpriced White Magnums and Tesla Wankers talking to other Tesla Wankers about how cool they think the are, while they stand about waiting for their cars to charge up, but that floor is a thing of beauty ✅💥

Wigan

Can’t be arsed with them, I was always mindful when we were in League 1 to not assume the right to promotion due to our fanbase etc. But they are league 1 jobbers 100% – we could really do with a win, they are crapper than Blackburn and much crapper than Burnley – it feels like anything less than 3 points would be a bad result. It’s early days and we all know The Championship is mental, (top 3 all lost Saturday, there’s not many leagues where that happens?), but it feels like a pivotal game in our season already, Blackburn and Burnley will both be tough and obviously it’s always easier to win your next game than any other.

No midweek game

It’s not long til Wigan, but it seems like a fucking age?

Wigan

Apart from Richard Ashcroft being from there, it’s just a nothing town with a nothing football team. Not there’s a right lot to write this week, but there’s every chance I’ll think of something, there’s always something….

  1. Nothing football team? Are you talking about the team you didn’t even come runners up to last season or the football team that’s played in Europe and won a major trophy alot more recent than you , honest get your head from up your arse .
