Sunderland 5 vs Cambridge 1

Nice day for it…..
So many more questions than answers…..

The Match…..

Given the state of the table, yesterday was a huge game, I’m normally pretty positive, I was worried about Cambridge though. Thankfully it was no contest, we played some great stuff, but a sending off and penalty after 12 minutes, (5 minutes of which had been the physio treating Winchester), was exactly what we needed. The red card probably ruined the game for the neutral, but Sunderland vs Cambridge is quite a niche watch for even the most neutral of neutrals? The penalty incident came from nothing, Rick O’Shea putting Stewart through, whilst it was a clumsy rather than nasty challenge, it was a foul….. which meant it also had to be a red card.

1, (One), ……
2, (Two),……

3, (Three),…..”that’s how easy love can be”

Doyle was caught napping for their goal, but it was the easiest of easy wins.

Nottingham Forest or Forest Green….

Its ridiculously tight, huge game vs Rotherham on Tuesday, it’s a must not lose, rather than a must win. Match Preview sometime tomorrow.

The Players…..

Winning 5-1 normally means you’ve played well? We did, very well, as you’d expect there were some really good performances….

Stewart – All strikers need confidence, this comes from scoring goals, so was a timely brace from Ross

Embleton – His best game for us, he completely controlled the game

Gooch – I’ve been very critical of his performances, purely on the basis he’s been poor more than he’s been decent. Yesterday his delivery was excellent, their left back was ran completely ragged.

2, 4 or 5 games to go…… Huge week or month ahead….

Where will our season finish? We are made of sterner stuff under Alex Neil, we haven’t lost in 11 games, if we can make that 16 games, we go up – simple…… unless we lose on penalties at Wembley, (Shirley that couldn’t happen? Could it??)

BIG WEEK AHEAD….

Great result and performance yesterday and a kebab…… we go again Tuesday – FTM
