Peterborough United Match Preview, (Virtual)

Strange, strange days….. no chance of any football for the foreseeable – but it’s just a game and of little significance in the current climate. Staying Home is the sensible and responsible thing to do, it is however fraught with boredom.

I had intended to take a Hiatus, from SAFCBlog. The reality is that, in times of normality, I spend a lot of time at home, thinking about all things football – the, (virtual),reality is that in unprecedented times of abnormality, I really haven’t got a lot else to do.

So, the plan is…. write some days, don’t write other days. The added advantage I have is that I genuinely couldn’t give a shit who reads, I just enjoy doing it. If it’s adverts, pop ups, chance to win an iPhone, introductory offers etc that you want, I can’t help with that….. if you want to read some irrelevant shite centred around SAFC….. I’m your man.

Virtual Reality……..

With football suspended, there’s less to write about, it would be daft not to continue to preview games?

Peterborough United…….

Sunderland v Peterborough Virtual match preview

It’s bad enough supporting 1 team in Division 3, but if I were to have a 2nd team it would be The Posh. It’s a great away day, and they score shit loads of goals, this season they’ve won 6-0, 4-0 five times and 4-1. It’s no surprise they have the best goal difference in the division, and the least amount of draws.

SUNDERLAND V PETERBOROUGH

LAST SEASON…… Under the stewardship of Steve Evans they drew 2-2 up here, it was pre SAFCBlog, but a decent game – we’d have won if Oviedo hadn’t got sent off for stupidly kicking out.

EASTER MONDAY…….Bizarrely we played Peterborough last year on this day too. We headed South on the back of a really good win vs Doncaster. We went ahead in the 90th minute and still managed to draw 1-1

Sunderland v Peterborough
Last year, 1-1

THIS SEASON…….We got absolutely hammered down there. We’d won at Premiership Burnley in midweek, we were unbeaten in the league and had won the last 3 league games…… I fancied us, but we just didn’t turn up

Sunderland v Peterborough Bank holiday Monday 2019
Peterborough- just a great day out
Sunderland v Peterborough
This season, 0-3….. we were lucky to come 2nd
Maddison….. absolutely destroyed us. Great player, clearly at bit of a handful though, thankfully he’s departed

Peterborough currently occupy a playoff place, it’s no surprise they are up there. Darren Ferguson is a decent gaffer and Ivan Toney is the best striker in this division. It’s a massive game……

Sunderland v Peterborough – SAFCBlog Predicts

SAFC 4 V PUFC 1. Sunderland make it 6, (virtual), wins in a row. Rotherham are held 1-1 at Tranmere, which means Sunderland are now top of the league. This virtual football isn’t so bad after all?

Peterborough United….. AKA…… THE POSH

Aside from the scrawny scouse one, Posh Spice, is my least favourite. The one from Seacroft with the Big Bangers wins all day long. Not my usual musical genre, but what a great song and video…..

Zig A Zig Ahhhhhhhh
