Sunderland Vs Wycombe Match Preview

On Saturday we host league leaders Wycombe Wanderers – when the fixtures came out, this game didn’t catch the eye, but fair dos to Wycombe. We drew both games with them 1-1 last season, (who’d have thought it eh?). We lost 1-0 there earlier this season, and those 3 games represent the only meetings we have had! They looked decent when they beat us in October – whereas last year they looked shite and were brutal; there were a couple of tackles on Watmore that were disgusting.

A few weeks ago they were well clear at the top and looking like being this seasons Luton, but 3 defeats in 4 games in December have derailed them slightly. Nevertheless a tough game beckons, I’d guess they would be delighted with a draw – if we can win the game it would be massive in a league that is starting to bunch up.

Their top scorer for the previous 3 seasons has been Adebayo Akinfenwa, he also leads the way this season. There’s no two ways about it – he’s fucking massive? Whilst we had a few fatties until Steve Parkin scared the shit out of them, Adebayo is a big old unit.

The idea of fat blokes playing professional football gives hope to thousands of us who watch the beautiful game?

It’s not that long since they were led into the football league by Martin O’Neil, (that was in the days before he worked a 2 day week). It’s a right hike for their fans, 271 miles each way, (welcome to our world!)
