A Wembley WIN…
Huge result for us, most reading this will have had their share of Wembley Woe…. none of us want to be back there in May, but if we are – we can win there! Football is just a game, there’s more important stuff – but with reference to the said important stuff, when the same negative event keeps happening, you need to break the cycle… we have done that today and it’s huge… fucking massive. We needed to win today, for lots of reasons.
A Great Goal…
Gooch never looked like missing, along with others I’d dismissed McGeady this time last year – the pass to Gooch was absolutely sublime, proper footballing filth.
Tranmere Rovers…
We weren’t at our best, but they were decent…. I’m going to stick it out with my little bet on them to be in the division below us come what August⚽️
Credit Due and Humble Pie…
I wasn’t particularly critical of Burge earlier this season, but plenty were…. confidence is everything with keepers, he was on the bones of his arse, he’s kept 6/7 clean sheets 👏 I have however been hugely critical of the performances of Max Power earlier this season…. credit to Max, he’s been really good of late and he seems the epitome of our new found team spirit, respect Max 👏
The Beautiful Game…
I love football, we all love football. I’m delighted we won a cup, I’m delighted we won at Wembley, I’m 49 and I’m absolutely gutted that a pal and huge Lads fan my junior by a few months couldn’t see it…. but that’s the script….when something means as much as football, it’s going to be an emotional carry on? I’m gutted that I couldn’t be at Wembley with those who I’ve been gutted with too often at Wembley. But… we won, it’ll mean different things to all of us, enjoy your night…. we go again in 3 sleeps you beautiful Red & White Wizards of Wonderland …. love football me.
