The Day After Shrewsbury….

A hugely disappointing evening at the Jimmy Montgomery Stadium, (David not a great name if your surname is Davis?)

Last night was poor, piss poor, Shrewsbury had a load of enforced changes and it’s a game we must expect to win, 1-0 up at half time and them down to 10 men, there really was no excuse for any other outcome than a comfortable away win? Despite writing this shite, I’m not mad for Social Media, I tend to steer clear of SAFC based Twitter etc after we’ve had a bad result, and focus on real life stuff like, watching dogs falling in rivers and finding out what Kris Day is having for his tea

Shrewsbury down to 10 men ✅ Game over ✅……

The Manager…..

It’s going to be tough for him to turn this around, starting Gooch and O’Brien last night didn’t seem to adhere to any plan? He may well ride the storm, if he does it will be a product of winning games, which would be good. I don’t boo sunderland, I only sing pro SAFC songs, I don’t sing about other teams having shit grounds etc…. All of this is my choice….. i regularly leave the ground early, lots of folk will disagree with this….. ultimately, it’s all about choice. Sacking managers is a negative situation, all we can do is Stay Classy, the previous regime didn’t achieve this with Jack Ross, (and more so his young family), although that said I have faith in our current custodians✅ It’s a bit like an amicable divorce……if it was amicable, would there be any need for the second word? Let’s just get shot of LJ, move on and please, please get out of this shite division!

We were absolutely blowing out of our arses last night, surely they can’t be as unfit as they look?

Much is being made of what LJ has to say post match, I’m sure he doesn’t feel like doing the interview sometimes, I understand and respect managers who protect their players, (although he certainly didn’t do that last night with his hanging out of Ross Stewart), but sometimes it’s probably best to say “that wasn’t good enough”. But post match interviews are a can of worms at best? My feeling is he is out of his depth and a change is the best thing….. his comment of “it’s a tough place to come…..” oh dear Lee, they have won 4 times in 16 games, they are shit… it’s a tough place to come as a fan, (via fucking Wales), but is Shrewsbury Town a legitimately tough place to come for Sunderland??

We Can’t Change Again?

We need to do it differently next time…..

  • Let’s not hire the cheap, available option
  • Let’s make an appointment to get us out of this division
  • Let’s piss off Rotherham or Wycombe and take their manager…. Even beyond that, I don’t accept that someone like Critchley at Blackpool or that bloke at Luton wouldn’t come here, yes they are Championship managers, but we are Sunderland – they would, it might take a bit of persuasion and money – but let’s just get the right man to get us out of this division? – it’s not gonna happen now, but I genuinely believe Chris Wilder would have come?

Exciting New SAFCBlog Feature #2….

After the excitement of the introduction of The SAFCBlog Friday Request, Saturday sees the start of another exciting Matchday feature.

Whilst the match reviews are not always content heavy, SAFCBlog rarely goes hungry, the trip to Cambridge in 3 sleeps time will see the launch of an exciting new feature…. SAFCBlog Dish of the Kris Day

A Graph …….

(*hypothetical for next 3 aways)

Just to clarify……3 categories

  • presentation (out of 5)
  • value (out of 5)
  • taste (out of 10)
  • so a total score divided by 3 = the KRIS DAY DISH OF THE DAY RATING…. or in short KDC, (Kris Day Coefficient)

Restless Natives……

BIG one Saturday Lee, it’s a must win….. back tomorrow with a Cambridge Preview⚽️🔴⚪️⚽️
