A 5-0 win is a great result at any level, Cheltenham were arguably as bad as we were good, but let’s not forget that we have laboured desperately against many a shite teams over the course of the previous 4 seasons? It’s stating the obvious to say a 5-0 win is good, but things are better than good…. It’s different this year

  • Plenty of changes from LJ, Cheltenham have had 3 good wins this term, he clearly identified they would play the high press and selected a team to hammer them
  • 5 players came in, all 5 did well – these are the headaches regarding selection that a gaffer wants?
  • The 1st 45 from Broadhead was as good a performance as I’ve seen from a SAFC player in as long as I can remember

Don’t get carried away……

Bollocks to that….. I’m on a 700 mile round trip to Portsmouth on Saturday, I’m off to watch the Stuffed Crust Trophy game at Sincil Bank Tuesday night….. carried away? Too fucking right – that’s exactly what we should all be doing!

Player Ratings….

We have cover in most positions, I’ll give Pritchard the benefit of the doubt and say he’s not match fit? O’Brien is a decentish Div 3 player, he doesn’t have a great eye for goal? Realistically Decent Division 3 Players, will be surplus to our requirements in 6 months? Most people reading this will have either, been there last night, read about it, listened to it, watched it etc…. So going to give the player ratings a skip.

Natural Order, Food Chain etc…..t

SAFCBlog is Politics Neutral, (*), but without going Analogy Heavy……most teams in this league are happy to have 2 or 3 decent players in their squad, we have 9 or 10 decent players? Without going too simplistic….. we piss this league 100%,.

Always tough down there, instinctively I’d probably take a draw….. but we should probably be looking to win? I’m of the firm belief that will win win this league with a bit to spare, we will of course lose 3 or 4 games…. Win Saturday and it’s a massive statement, (probably means we would come back from International Break still top of the league with 2 games in hand👍)
