The magic of the cup – Shrewsbury away in preview

We were in division 3 for four years because we deserved to be, I never bought into it being below us, as a result I had some great trips and made some great friends, (mostly internet types, but connected with a few real people too), sadly going to Shrewsbury is always a horrible trip, it’s perhaps related to their fans love in with NUFC, (2nd biggest team in North East who have never won a trophy on colour TV, with an empathy towards beheading, sportswahing, slavery and homophobia?).

Work in progress….

2022 was lovely for me, the SAFCBlog Review of 2022, is imminent, similarly writing a book is a slow process, but once again it’s imminent. SAFCBlog #994 tonight, I was going to dip out at 1000, but without being a needing to be loved Twitter crank, I’ve decided not to. As always no need to read, like, share, retweet etc, I’ll keep doing it til I can’t be arsed❤️🐶⚽️🪑✅

Lower league tinpot jobbers

Since the inception of SAFCBlog, we’ve had 3 trips there, I used to love Gay meadow, the new stadium is a soulless shithole

VISIT #1

Had some very wet Saturday mornings so far this season, but this was a different league

Absolutely pissed it down, we hit a swan on the motorway, we lost 1-0

Their cup final

VISIT #2 – COVID, can’t remember 100% but think we lost 2-1?
VISIT #3, the most League 1 evening ever?

Horrible evening

Shrew are ya?

“Hi Simon “

We will win easy on Saturday, even a much changed team will smash them? SAFCBlog predicts…. A 2-0 win ⚽️⚽️

all manner of famous folk from Shrewsbury

Thankyou for the music ❤️

Percy Thrower

It’s fucking miles?

There’s not even a straight line to get there
What else is there to do on a Saturday?⚽️

Division 3

I’m a huge advocate of making plans and only looking forward, I’m emotionally invested in SAFC, our last visit to Shrewsbury was a test of the aforementioned faith?

We were shite > we’re now much better > what a time to be alive fucking🪑❤️⚽️🐶

all manner of shite blogging imminent, back to school and work today so at least I’ll know what day it is
