The Mansfield of the Cup….

Last season we drew Mansfield at home in the 1st Round, at the time they were 22nd in Division 4, a week after Grigg had missed from 2 yards, the other half of the G Farce, Danny Graham missed from 1 yard. Mansfield were shite, but won a shite game 1-0. We’re due a more exciting draw this season, the opportunity to go to York or Harrogate, or bumble about some Pit Village full of inbreds? Eyes down, the ballbag will be emptied live on BBC 1 at 1.05pm….

This season we have drawn Mansfield at home in the 1st Round, they are 22nd in Division 4 and are shite. The same tie away would have at least been a good day out? Hey, Ho …. What else is there to do on a Saturday? Realistically it’ll be 3 or 4 years before we win the FA Cup, but it’s a winnable game, so let’s win it and see what Round 2 brings!

A Big Week….

This is our 4th season in Division 3. It’s a shit division, it doesn’t take Carol Vorderman to work out that this means we’ve been shit for a while? In any given season there are key moments, obviously some can’t be controlled, (shit refs etc), but there’s often Big moments……
  • Under Ross when we scored in the last minute at Rochdale, that should have seen us kick on and gain promotion?
This was the moment…….. ❌
  • The season after, we’d got our selves in a good position and momentum was there, a draw at Coventry and we’d kick on and gain promotion?

  • Weird season last season, but ultimately another failure, we got ourselves in a great position and then went to shit
We were in a position to secure promotion………❌
  • Nothing is decided in October, but…… we have the squad to piss this league, we just need to hit the front, we’ve responded well to the horror show at Portsmouth, it was a huge result yesterday, we have 2 games in the next 6 days….. 6 points from these and I think we won’t relinquish top spot all season?
With a couple of tough games in South Yorkshire on the horizon….. this is potentially a defining week?✅
