Up Next – Blackpool Away

After a few false starts ….. we finally get to go to Blackpool

Last Thoughts on AFC Wimbledon’s

Decent win yesterday, I’d assumed Wimbledon would be shit, they weren’t bad to be fair, it was only their 2nd defeat in 11 games and they certainly offered enough to suggest that they will be competitive this season. That said we deserved to win, mainly for the 2nd half performance, we really missed the presence of Evans in the middle. Injuries will always happen, (especially with the division 3 schedule), this is where squad depth comes to the fore, I’ve not, (to date), managed a professional football club, but given we were without Evans, it seems perplexing to move our most influential midfield player to play at full back? Especially after he struggled in that position vs Wigan? But what do I know? Job done and 3 points, onto next Saturday.

SAFCDog

On the off chance anyone reads this shite on a regular basis, they will know I love dogs, I’d go so far to say on balance, I prefer dogs to people. Dogs aren’t allowed in football stadia, (assistance dogs aside), yesterday our owner took his dogs to the game, that’s absolutely class. Ultimately he does literally own the place, so he can do what he likes, but it’s a massive thumbs up from me👍🐶 I’m just waiting to hear from KLD to confirm if I can take my dogs to the match on Saturday…..

Ha’Way the Dogs⚽️, “Let’s do this”
…..Some less enthusiastic than others, “can we leave early?”
“You can get fucked, I’m going nowhere, Lassie is on at 2pm….”

I’m sure KLD will get back to me during the week.

Tuesday Night Cup Fever

Before we play Wycombe we have the delights of a trip to Blackpool, I like Blackpool for lots of reasons, decent fans, decent history, fans saw off shithouse owners, I like the seaside, http://www.janestuart.co.uk is always an informative, entertaining read and ihttp://www.mclfoot.blogspot.com is on occasions a functional blog. It feels like we’ve played them a lot of late, bizarrely in the 29 months I’ve been writing this shite, we’ve not had a trip to Bloomfield Road, (with fans). The 1-0 on NYD was a few weeks before I started this, 2 years ago we were going up until the day before…..

Until he changed his mind…..
*Ghost Tickets*…. I really should throw these away, but that would just be wrong

The Game….

Arguably neither team is probably that arsed about winning the game, I think we will win, either way I’m really looking forward to it, for lots of reasons….

  • Easy to get to
  • A Tuesday night game under the lights
  • We will make changes, in recent years this has translated to replacing shit players with worse players, alas not now, it’ll be a chance to see Alves, Hugill and Broadhead. I’d drop Gooch and McGeady on the evidence of the last 3 games, but a rest might be just what they need?
  • It’s also an opportunity to give Flanaghan and Doyle a rest, both have been immense, but 2 games a week is hard. I’m still perplexed that Doyle is only 17…. Part of me expects him to be outed as being 24, like one of those cranky blokes who go to school in full uniform, beard etc when they are in their mid twenties.
17??? Bonkers
