Up Next – Rochdale at Home

Up until our visit to Spotland earlier in the season, we had a 100% record against them since we choose to play in Division 3, we really should have taken all 3 points – but akin to much of the previous 2 years, we drew a game we really should have won, we have now developed a much more positive habit of winning games we really should have won.

September 2018 – 4-1
April 2019 – Their Cup Final….
A 2-1 win and I was convinced we were going up
Sept 2019 – another 2-1 win
Jan 2020…. 3-0…. vs one of the most inept teams I’ve ever seen

We are on a roll, 13 points from 15, if we can win on Saturday we will have put ourselves in a strong position. Since coming down we’ve had a tendency to draw games like the 4 we’ve won recently, our recent return sets us up nicely for a really tough run of fixtures over the next 6 weeks. After Saturday’s game it’s almost as if we are entering into another mini league, we have obviously frailties at the back, but our firepower in the final 3rd is better than anyone’s. Ultimately it’s a results business, I couldn’t give a shit how we get the points required and I’m pretty confident with where we are in relation to the other teams.

Getting to The Business end of the season – let’s do this

Rochdale… 53.6097°N, 2.1561°W

Whilst we know plenty about them as a team, SAFCBlog is always keen to stay cutting edge, so I thought I’d have a look at the town.
– By the early 18th Century the town was at the centre of the Wool Trade of Northern England, it established itself as Mill Town in the 19th Century and was a real powerhouse in Textile Manufacturing during the Industrial Revolution. The 20th Century saw the Spinning Capacity of the town decline. The towns rich history of clothing Manufacturing may be consigned to a bygone era, but the town is still one of the Grooming Hotspots of England.

Victoria Mill, Rochdale – Stunning

“Do You Know Who I Am?”

Exciting new feature at The New Look SAFCBlog, where I look at famous custodians of the Town in question. The following all hail from Rochdale…. Fat Nonce Cyril Smith, Singer Lisa Stansfield, Twitcher Bill Odie, Rangzieb Ahmed.

The most famous of all is TV Stunner and SAFCBlog Ambassador (*), Anna Louise Friel…

Have you seen her, have you heard….. the way she plays, there are no words…..to describe the way I Friel”

Are Rochdale Any Good?

2nd Bottom….

if the Rochdale Gaffer can dress like this, surely Lee can lose the Bus Drivers Coat?
