Wembley Bound Wonderland Win at Lincoln

We were absolutely shite on Saturday, thankfully just 3 days later we have the chance to Bounce Back at Lincoln. Saturday was bad, not quite Christine Talbot leaving Calendar or The vandalism of the Blue Peter Garden bad, but still pretty bad….

Percy Thrower was fucking livid…..

So whilst worse things happen than getting dicked at Portsmouth, if we can get a positive result tonight it will be real boost.

SAFCBlog Photographer Gate….

In short, he was sacked for being shite, only this morning I captured these beauties on my way to the tip….

Stunning…. Rainbows really are clever, up there with Baked Alaska Clever
Ice cream from the oven – mind boggling✅

Given I’m driving tonight in forecasted treacherous conditions, I’ve got no viable option but to give the idiot another chance…..

Journey South, (and turn left)….

Some trees
Some arty shite

In Lincoln….

£4.80 extremely well spent 🌎

After parking in a Press Car Park about 50 yards away from the ground, (but a 1 mile walk), due to some big gates, we decided to have a pint inside, whilst the fanzone is decent and certainly offered plenty of choice, I had a lukewarm tinned burger at Portsmouth, Lincoln offer Indian Street Food and the like, but it was too cold to stand outside.

Lincoln is a bit of a strange place, whilst it’s a city – it has a feel of a rural outpost? The bar certainly had a feel that most folk, weren’t adverse to spending a disproportionate amount of time in a field with animals
10 changes and a very youthful look to the side
“Keep the Red Flag flying high”
296 mile round trip on a dreadful evening for what is effectively a Reserve Team Match – just shy of 700 SAFC in attendance 🔴⚪️✅

The Match….

Surprisingly competitive and enjoyable, loads of positive performances – Younger or Neil my MOTM, but really encouraging all over the park. I was really impressed that the passing ethos remained and whilst it would be perhaps expected that the young lads may panic, we improved as the game went on and could and should have won by more. We took the lead after just 2 minutes, I wasn’t watching as I was saying hello to people – only realised after seeing on TV that it was an absolute worldie🌎.

Only blemish was them scoring with almost the last kick, 2-1 made it sound closer than it was.

Job done ⚽️✅

Hit The North….

Quite like the 7pm kick off time, shocking conditions driving home, but at least it was localish,

Rain = Wet

Much more enjoyable than I was expecting, no game this weekend so SAFCBlog is on Annual Leave for a few days
