Wonderland Hit Top Gear At The Pirelli Stadium…

It’s Saturday, even in Lockdown it’s the best day of the week, the Red and White Wizards of Wonderland are headed to bottom of the league, (but bizarrely in form), Burton Albion. As widely reported we are entering into a new era, we are not at the stage of must win games, but we do need to go on a run,, it’s there for the taking – not just for us, but for loads of teams. On the next few days we play two teams we historically struggle against, if we can post a couple of wins, it would be a huge statement. The investment in the club is well documented, if we don’t go up this season it will feel like a waste of a season? If we’d beaten Charlton at Wembley we’d have come straight back down, if the EFL hadn’t not bothered finishing last season and we’d gone up we’d have also struggled,(although it may have fast tracked the investment). If we can get up this season, the potential is there for things to be very different next season.

Although Burton are in reasonable form, we really shouldn’t be fearing them in any way whatsoever, if we talking form, we have the main men.…. given the ongoing restrictions in overseas travel, these two could well be the best front pair any of us see this year….

“From Messy Scot, to the Scotch Messi”
“From Missing Barn Doors to winning Ballon d’Or’s”……. so strong are his powers, he’s reversed the ageing process and grown a new barnet like Samson did in the panto / Bible
McGeady, (right) and Wyke, (right), the men in form⚽️

SAFCBlog Scientific Data Analysis Club…

McGeady and the Middlesbrough Pele are an unstoppable force at the moment, as the following graphic shows…..

All pretty self explanatory

As good as we were last week, Doncaster’s defending was absolutely garbage, I like Darren Moore, imagine his half time thoughts were fairly forthright?

Pre Teamsheet Teamsheet Thoughts…

Johnson likes a change, I’m not sure anyone really staked a claim in midweek? Maguire was probably the pick of the changes, but he won’t get any further than the bench.

Actual Teamsheet Teamsheet Thoughts…

Plenty good enough

No huge surprises, obviously I don’t know who has a knock etc, but Josh Scowen can feel slightly aggrieved to be on the bench.

3pm… GAME ON…. COME ON YOU BEAUTIFUL RED AND WHITE BASTARDS🔴⚪️⚫️

Might even have a glass of wine if we win today 🍷

36 seconds…… Frankie gone early with the, “as always we are reliant on the EFL pictures for this game”

Luke obviously just went gel heavy for the cameras in midweek, he has definitely NOT had his haircut

6 minutes… well worked free-kick, Burton caught napping, lovely finish from Grant 1-0

31 minutes… a 2nd goal from outside of the area courtesy of Gooch, 2-0, game over, fill your boots lads, these are absolutely shite

Lots of positives so far, O’Brien having a great game, Gooch has got their Centre Half on toast, he’s on a yellow and looks like he may well need a replacement arsehole come 4.55pm

35 minutes….. a break in play and the first proper sighting of LJ

Yes we are dominant ✅ yes we are 2-0 up✅ But Lee?❌

Half Time… 0-2, deservedly ahead, Burton poor – but we are doing a good job on them, I’ve no idea how our goal difference compares to others, but the could give these a right hiding today.

Well done Lee….. it’s often said the mark of a good centre mid player is you don’t notice he’s playing?

2nd Half….. smash these lower league jobbers

51 minutes…. Decent save from Burge tipping onto the bar. A save you’d expect him to make, but full credit to Burge- he’s shown some real cahonas the last 10 days or so.

Plenty of niggle and a card happy ref, this ain’t finishing 11 v 11?

56 minutes….. promise I write this in real time. Red card for the big lump of a number 16 for them

“Earls Caught….. go on you big daft lump, have yourself an early bath 🟥”

69 minutes…. ch-ch-ch-changes

76 minutes…. Just a usual Saturday, Wyke slams it home, 3-0, a job very well done. Burton are rubbish, but let’s remember how much dross we’ve not dispatched in this manner over the last 3 seasons?

The last time I genuinely believed things were going to be good was when we beat Everton to stay up and relegate the Mags, that night was my dads final visit to SOL, (nothing like going out in style💜), of course today is nowhere near that high, but maybe, just maybe…. something good is going to happen?

full time 3-0 ….. job done….. we go again Tuesday …… FTM
