4 games is nowhere near enough to read anything into the League table, although 4 or 5 of the current top 6 could realistically be expected to finish the season in the top 6. Wycombe play shithouse football, they time waste, they are physical, they hoof it long…. But if you’re going to play the game that way, you can just about get away with it if you get results? They got promoted 2 years ago by voting not to play, much as there’s nothing endearing about them, you’d have to expect them to be in the mix this season. If we are going to achieve our end goal, all games are important, momentum is everything and it’s also hugely important that we make the SOL as much of a fortress as we can?
Going to the match…..
Football is brilliant, not being able to go for 19 months really hit home just how bigger part of my life it is, I’m fortunate enough to be able go to all the games, it’s just a fucking brilliant game isn’t it….
A Scotch Scouse manager once referred to football being more important than life – that’s obviously bollocks, it isn’t. I had desires this season of not missing a game, the challenging October trips to Portsmouth and Gillingham are all booked and arranged. This blog is all about positivity, I received a call whilst out with the dogs and today’s priorities lay away from football, so I’m missing the match. It’s a beautiful game, but it is just a game.
No Report then???
Don’t be silly, I managed to report on a season behind closed doors, I even wrote 8 virtual match reports on games that weren’t played, so I may as well pen something today, the fact that the match reports don’t really mention the match make this easily achievable.
GAME ON….
Not going to the match is strange for me, when we were in lockdown and weren’t to allowed to go to the game it felt ok not going, when fans are allowed and I don’t go, it just feels a bit weird, I can only compare it to my *proper job*, where people ask you to go out on a work do, after years of saying no, they stop asking because they know I won’t go, I don’t want to go – but I want to choose not to go. Anyway I guess 32’000 or so others will go today, which is tremendous as always….
3.25pm….
This Time…..
We were always going to piss the league at some point, it’s this season…. 100%
HALF TIME….
So far so good….
Looks another decent crowd, they count the ST anyway? So my empty seats won’t be noticed
2nd HALF……
Sorry I wasn’t there today Lads – I’ll be back next time⚽️
