Huge game on Tuesday, fucking massive. Our recent run of form has put us in good position, we don’t necessarily need to win on Tuesday, but we may as well.

It’s almost 2 years since I started writing SAFCBlog, within 6 weeks of its launch we’d played Portsmouth 4 times….

Take 1 ….. a draw at Wembley
Take 2 …. another draw, this time at the home of football, highlight of the day was the Northumbria Police tweeting at 1pm saying trained dogs will be on duty to sniff out pyrotechnics….. at 3.10pm someone had replied asking, was the spaniel licking his bollocks rather than focusing on the job in hand
Take 3…. a 1-0 win in the 1st leg of the Playoffs
I got absolute pelters at the time for daring to question Stewart Donald….sorry Stewart
Jack looks as pleased as I was about a Thursday night game 300 miles away at short notice – at least you’re not booked into the Fratton Ibis Jack and running the gauntlet of the locals?
Take 4…. job done
We all love SAFC, I’m lucky to be at a time of life where time and cash enables me to go everywhere, but we’re all equal – this night was just fantastic for so many fans all over the globe – I’m told it was a shit game – I’ve never seen any footage from the game – it’s just a fantastic memory, a evening spent with great people. It was the 1st season without dad – I was convinced, absolutely convinced it was in the script to beat Charlton at Wembley… as the song goes, only love can break your heart

Yep. Portsmouth got stuffed yesterday, they are in a real dip, there’s a possibility they may get shot of their gaffer between now and Tuesday night. The atmosphere at Fratton Park can be brilliant, I actually think it would be a good night to have fans in, as all is not well? They seem to be even worse than us in the play offs too, I know this because I was told so at a all night garage at 2.15am after the play off game…..

“What else you going to do at 2.15am in Fratton after a night on the piss?” (Going to dig the video out for Tuesday night 👍⚽️“)

I like football a lot – It’s just a game, a good game, but just a game. Another good man lost on Friday – I didn’t know him, but he was the dad of one of the very best of men I have the pleasure know.
