All Roads Don’t Lead To Crewe…

“Home of Ice Cream Vans?”
More Ice Cream Vans are made in Crewe than anywhere else in the world!

Positive news this week that normality may be on the horizon, it’s felt like a long old slog. I don’t know why but missing this game feels like a real blow, we haven’t played at Crewe for ages, it’s a decent club, we are gaining momentum…. whatever the reasons are I can’t wait to get back to the match.

if only…….

A trip to Crewe would be lovely, the train is a bit more of chew than I thought it would be, but to be honest I’d take a lift to the match with Tiger Woods if it meant seeing the game?

What Will The Score Be…

It’s been widely reported that SAFC are recruiting a Head of Scientifiic Data Analyst, this is the penultimate game before the closing date for applications, with this in mind I’ll probably stop doing graphs in a few weeks. So, what’s the score going to be?

All fairly self explanatory, but this shows the Goals Per Game Coefficient Differential, (GPGCDj.

Over the last 7 games we have a Positive GPGCD of 8, as a pie chart….

We have more points than them, we score more than them, we concede less than them, we win more games than them…. we will win on Saturday, whilst it’s easy to think it will be 2-1, (14/7=2 vs 6/7=0.85), the science actually suggests a 2-0 Win for SAFC.

Crewe is not only famous for Trains and Ice Cream Vans, it was also the birthplace of the Blaster Bates. I’m getting to the stage of life where I don’t fancy a career change, but if I had my time again I’d either be a Dry Stone Waller, (just always fancied it), or an Explosives and Demolition Expert and Raconteur like the fantastically named Blaster Bates who hailed from Crewe.

Blowing up buildings, (legally), must be a right fucking laugh? I played football on Hackney Marshes every Sunday morning for 3 years and my overriding memory is the day we turned up and all games were off, (there’s circa 80 pitches), due to nearby tower blocks being demolished. Hundreds of us stood and watched in awe, it was fucking brilliant….

Definite ‘Bucket List’ experience ✅💥✅

Blaster Bates died in 2006 aged 83, he was laid to rest in the nearby town of Sandbach, (imagine if they’d cremated him?)

Slightly off topic today, but wouldn’t it be lovely to be heading to Crewe on Saturday? Keep the Faith and we’ll be there soon. FTM
