Drawing the Poshitives…

For weeks I’ve felt the aim was to head into yesterday’s game knowing that a draw would be a decent result. We succeeded on both levels, as we put ourselves in that position and we came away with a point, a win would of course been brilliant, a draw however was a good result.

Points of View…

Given how much I write about SAFC online, I ironically don’t really read or engage a great deal with Social Media, if anything the content that I used to consume from the various SAFC media platforms was actually the catalyst for starting to write something, where I can be honest, genuinely independent, not worry about upsetting anyone, not take sponsorship, not be arsed for likes, shares or virtual friends, not feel the need to rim the asses of previous owners in exchange for favours etc. I get the SM concept, it’s just not really for me, that said SM is a huge part of modern life and I do get a reasonable amount of SAFC content via Twitter, whilst it’s my choice of who to follow etc, I do prefer the old school choice of, I’m not off in there it’s full of knobs, let’s not sit near him as he talks shite etc….. That’s not to say SM isn’t good, I’ve met some good pals through this blog, even launched a business with one etc…. but FFS, did I miss something yesterday afternoon?

  • We got the point we deserved from a team with the best home record, on a shit pitch in shit conditions. We actually deserved to win, automatic promotion remains in our hands on the back of 14 games undefeated. It would have been lovely to win 3-0, but it was ok to draw 1-1
Hull are in Position A, we are in Position B

A Results Business…

Our run of results has been impressive, let’s not kid ourselves that we’ve played well in all the games, we were very good vs Doncaster and Portsmouth, in most games we’ve been poor for large spells. What we have done is get results and that’s all that matters, there’s no realistic or relevant comparison to be had… but going 0-1 vs Oxford and 0-1 yesterday, is there another time in the last 3 years where we’d have got 4 points? We just seem to have a spine that’s been missing for a while, we all knew the drill… go 1-0 down at home, 6 minutes later it’s 3-0….we aren’t perfect, but we have improved massively.

Automatic For The People…

Our sole aim is automatic promotion, we have tough games to come, but turning it round…. how do Peterborough feel after yesterday? how do Blackpool feel about playing us twice? I don’t want the play offs, I think we’ll go up automatically, but we will face each hurdle as it arrives, ultimately it’s better than coming 10th? Onwards and upwards.
