Yesterday…..

We were poor yesterday, as we have been for the last 6 weeks. We played some exhilarating stuff at Wycombe, (although conceding 3 goals will mean you don’t generally win?), we’ve been crap since, 1 win in 8, (vs the worst Pompey team I’ve seen), is poor form. Rotherham are home and dry, Wigan have wobbled but they should beat Crewe on Tuesday to go 6 points, (7 with GD), ahead of us with 3 games in hand…..

Play Offs it is then?

…… I’d hope so, but we need a positive result ASAP. I thought we’d win at Bolton, (edged out 6-0), the subsequent 3 games against 3 teams in the bottom 6 would then bring 9 points….. for WWWW read LLLD. I was never really on board with LJ, just as it did for Poyet at Bradford and Ross at Lincoln, his tenure just limped to a natural end at Bolton?

Things aren’t too bad though?

As aforementioned we need at positive result, I’m not suggesting there’s any worldbeaters in this division, but our next 3 games are against 2nd, 3rd and Burton, (always a problem for us). At the turn of the year it looked like 1 of SAFC, Wigan & Rotherham would have the heartbreak of coming 3rd with 90 points….. which is a horrible way to go into the playoffs? At least we, (hopefully), know our destiny?

A week off…..

Much as SAFCBlog loves a midweek game, it has to be a good thing that we aren’t playing til Saturday, (York vs Telford for me on Tuesday⚽️). It’s obvious we are hopelessly out of form, but the young lads look absolutely shattered emotionally and physically, hindsight a wonderful thing, but theres a reason lads play a lot of U23 football before they tackle a 50 games season of mens football? i wouldn’t be surprised if AN explores the free agent market?

Is it that bad?

SAFCBlog is always mindful to avoid cliches……. but just like not realising how fucked your shoes are til you buy a new pair… not realising how bad a relationship is til you walk way from it…..etc. It seems things aren’t brilliant? We look unfit, rudderless and basically shite…. I mentioned earlier in the week that the inner workings of a company at board level isn’t the concern of consumers…. but… footie is different – the club hasn’t had a great week PR wise…..but for me it’s just PR, unpopular opinion… but there were 9000 people there yesterday, I couldn’t really give a shit if Methvren was one of them…. as away days go, traffic delays, food options, parking, results etc are more important. I have complete trust in KLD, shareholdings in companies are strange things…… I’m sure there will be people reading this who have retail shares? Yep…. if you have shares in Co-op you can attend the AGM! For me…. Lets just let this run its course…..
