SAFCBlog #946, BRFC 2 vs SAFC 0

Wasn’t to be last night, referees have been in the spotlight even more than ever of late, last night we had a Premiership referee, we lost by 2 goals, the 1st from a breakaway after he failed to give a stonewall penalty right in front of him, the 2nd was 100% offside. Hey ho, no point going all Jurgen Klopp, these things happen and will continue to do so, (for and against us?), can’t be shouting at referees – although I do hope he stood on a plug when he went for a piss in the middle of the night.

Load of games tonight so they won’t stay top, Sheffield Utd and Norwich have both been top and neither were hugely impressive when we lost to them, we all know this league is completely mental, if we had a striker there’s absolutely no reason that we wouldn’t be in the top 6 – but we don’t and as alluded to previously, whilst the injuries to Stewart and Simms are unfortunate, we really shouldn’t be in the position we are in personnel wise. We moved the ball around well last night, but it’s patently obvious what we are missing and whilst football has become a very tactical, scientific game – not scoring goals will never ever result in winning games? At least it’s not far, was home by 11.30pm, I’d rather lose at Blackburn than Bristol or Swansea. We go again Saturday – another big game⚽️🔴⚪️🔴⚽️

Photo News

Been a turbulent start to the season, I’ve had to let the photographer go, (just not very good at taking pictures), although the new man did well last night, he’s been commissioned for Huddersfield away in a few weeks and I’ll do the photos at Burnley and Luton.

New SAFCBlog Official Photographer, Danny Slazenger📸

In Profile…. Danny is about 54, he is from York, he has some children, his favourite band are Kajagoogoo. Away from his job as a beer salesman, his hobbies are photography, dogging and reading.

I can’t imagine anyone has read all 944 issues of SAFCBlog, but it’s going to be better moving forward, (all relative, low bar etc), part of Dannys remit is to caption his photographs, (rather than just send me pictures of the A19 in the middle of the night)

Burnley – Just 2 sleeps that’s all

It’s going to be fucking hard at the weekend, but as mentioned earlier there’s no reason not to get a result? We will probably need to score though! Match preview sometime tomorrow⚽️

Yes we lost – but got to love a midweek away day.

Sunset

Yorkshire is the best part of England 100%, what a fucking sunset last night, I captured these beauties….

Saturday

I was thinking we wouldn’t beat Burnley, I’ve seen the light and changed my mind. Driving to Blacburn is 95% the same as driving to Burnley, we all remember certain games, we all remember our 1st game, remembering someones last game is heartbreaking💔⚽️ The girls are so proud of you pal❤️⚽️ I’d always thought emotional cranks who bang on about stuff happening for a reason were batty fuckers, like people who knew it was going to rain on their birthday or fall in love at first sight etc, just hindsight idiots?, But I’m going we beat Burnley Lloyd, although as we often said, this is Sunderland, anything could fucking happen? 💔

Exciting New SAFCBlog Feature…

Only so many songs I can think of, so decided to start taking requests, any requests just see me at the match or email the SAFCBlog Media team, (me), on shaunsafc01@gmail.com , (no Coldplay please). Food Critic Kris Day from Grindon has requested A day in the life by 60’s boyband The Beatles. Unfortunately YouTube doesn’t allow Beatles songs to be shared, I might be imagining it/wrong but I’m pretty sure the Micheal Jackson bought the rights? Shirley they can reclaimed due to his noncing and being dead? Anyway, found a cover version Kris, enjoy your tea.
