Last Night…..

We completely controlled the game, it was a hugely positive performance all over the pitch, it’s been a pretty miserable 5 years or so watching SAFC, we have often come up against teams and just never even given them a game, think pretty much every home game in the Championship? Last night we dished out a dose of this to Wigan, it was only a cup game – but any rational Wigan fans, whilst delighted to be top of the league, will know that there’s not a chance on earth that we don’t finish above them this season? Anyone who reads this regularly will know I’m very positive re: our fans and I’m of the belief we are all equal etc….. game of opinions etc, but I’d much prefer us singing Sunderland Songs, rather than generic shite about ex players etc, vocal backing can be a huge benefit to the team, for me channelling the positivity out of this enthusiasm is definitely the way to go? But that’s just my opinion and I’d hope lots disagree.

Up For The Cup……

It’s the draw tonight, it’s the last 16 already, we’ve avoided the main aim of not embarrassing ourselves at somewhere really tinpot like Barrow, Forest Green or Harrogate. 3 away games and 3 wins, helped by the fact we’ve played 3 smallish, shite-ish teams, but winning games is always a good thing….

So Who Do We Want Next?

• Do we want someone crap like Preston? Although they would be full strength and better than someone perceived to be a bit better
• I guess there will be younger regulars who haven’t seen anyone good visit the SOL? So Liverpool, City or United at home ticks a few boxes, (except we’d get stuffed)
• Most 3rd tier teams would look for a trip to one of the elite clubs, that’s not something I fancy – it might sound arrogant etc – but I don’t want to go to OldTrafford as a plucky lower league team, I want to go there in the league and hand them their arses on plate like we did under Poyet?
• I can’t be arsed getting someone like Wolves, Villa or Leeds, as although they are where we want to be and are obviously better than us at football, but we are bigger than them
• Don’t really fancy a trip to Southampton in the same month we have Portsmouth and Gillingham away
• Whilst I’ve been to The Goldstone Ground & Griffin Park, the new grounds of Brighton and Brentford are yet to be ticked off for me, so either of them away please, or Tottenham’s new gaff.
• But….. it really doesn’t matter, bit of a distraction, but 6 points in the next week is where it’s at

Obviously I wrote most of this shite sometime before the draw…. SAFC VS ???, what difference does it make? It makes none…..
