SAFCBlog Moral Entitlement Pandemic Tuesday Club

There’s more positivity around the club at present than there has been for years…. won at Wembley, storming up the league, billionaire owner, potential to be back in the grounds in August etc …it’s all pretty decent at the moment.

A Game of Opinions…

As aforementioned, there’s not really anything to be unhappy about when it comes to SAFC at present? There’s nowt worse than someone being negative at a time of positivity, but one thing from Sunday has pissed me off…..

Entitlement…..

We’re all missing going to games, it’s been a really tough year, we all have different Matchday routines. I’ve found it really hard, I don’t live anyway near Sunderland, so there being no games means I’ve barely been to the city for the last year, I miss it a lot. I’ll also got pals who I’ve seen most Saturdays for years, who I’ve not seen for a year, I miss that a lot, I miss service stations, I miss 7am train cans, I miss football – I really miss it. I’m a huge believer that we are all equal as fans, I go to the games – but I’m at a stage of life where that’s doable. I came very close to having a media pass for Accrington tomorrow, had the game been played in December as originally scheduled I was in, I’ve missed the cut for tomorrow’s rescheduled game. I’ve been writing this blog for exactly two years, I’m a member of the Football Writers Association, I probably spend 15-20 hours a week writing for the blog, on the odd, (very odd), occasion I even get positive feedback. Despite all of this I wasn’t completely comfortable with getting to see the game tomorrow night, I was excited – but I also felt it wasn’t right when everyone else is missing out.

Morality…..

I’m delighted that Stewart Donald his no longer in situ at this wonderful club. Ideally he shouldn’t be mentioned, just a bad thing we had, but now we’re better? I appreciate the SKY cameraman won’t have known he was, but why was he at Wembley on Sunday in a club tie etc?

He’s A Shareholder Don’t You Know?

Irrelevant, I’m a shareholder at lots of companies

Good day for Rolls Royce and ITV…. I’ve got a shareholding in both, doesn’t mean I can dial a Roller to whizz me down to watch the Filming of Marcella and perve over Anna Friel? (Does it??)

No Harm Done?

Bollocks! Its all about opinions, but…… Donald acted deplorabley at SAFC, his dishonesty and greed ripped the heart from our club, he should be nowhere near us, our new owner was on TV citing his tenure as ‘asset stripping’, he should be ashamed to be involved, why the fuck is he lording it in a club tie, he almost took us to the brink – right to the fucking brink, the absolute bones of our arse. Whilst this is not necessarily my opinion, I’m really not comfortable with him being there.

Does It Matter?

It does to me, it’s just wrong. I’ll be honest, I’ve travelled this season to towns we were playing in, legitimately as I can schedule my work accordingly, that’s my choice – I’m ok with not getting in the ground if that’s the rule? I never bought into Donald, lots did – for me I don’t think there’s a place for him at our games? I’m hugely uncomfortable with the scenario of representatives of fans groups, branches, media platforms being shoehorned into the games by Donald on the basis they spinelessly blew smoke up his arse and continue to do so, (just a hypothetical scenario obviously), that happening would be abhorrent surely? I miss the football, I miss my mates, I miss people who I’m proud to call my friends.

“Moral Highground From A Shite Blog?”

Perhaps, the view from here is good for me.

Back with the positivity tomorrow night.
