SAFCBlog Shipping Forecast Wednesday Club…..

There’s no pretending otherwise, the Good Ship Sunderland has hit Stormy Waters?

But…. we are pretty much in the playoffs, so there’s no reason not to think we can go up?

The idea that the games against Plymouth, (shite), and Northampton, (worse), don’t matter is miles off the mark. When we fucked it up in 2019 the games vs Fleetwood and Southend didn’t matter, just a training exercise – this time is different, we desperately need to capture some positivity before we take on whoever over 2 legs.

I’ll preview the Plymouth game tomorrow, it’s over 2 years since our last trip there….

Thankfully relying on McGeady to win us division 3 games is a distant memory???

We are a huge club, this has positives a plenty, conversely when things aren’t so good the substantial interest in us can manifest into a negative situation. That’s fine, people care, they really care ….opinions are healthy and will always differ, I’d like nothing more than to be writing positive stuff about SAFC, but given I write this shite blog most days, it’s reputation, (?), would be in tatters if I didn’t pen a few thoughts about how much of a shitshow we have seen the last month or so.

Taking Ownership…..

I never really bought into them, but it’s not unreasonable that some people, (not necessarily the opinion of SAFCBlog), view our previous owners as full of shit, dishonest, southern gobshites…. I’m sure their involvement will cease once we secure our division 3 status in a few weeks, but the opinion that the short armed Prick and his bellend of a pal, were not what we needed seems a popular one? Thankfully we are in safe hands now, (think replacing Lee Camp with Jordan Pickford), KLD will get it right, 100%. He’s already surrounding himself with the right people, ultimately I think that our next manager will be an overseas chap who will lead us to the promised land, (for me it’s when not if).

The Management…..

First and foremost I’m not in favour of a managerial change, although my reasoning for that is, we can’t keep changing just for the sake of it, that’s obviously not a glowing assessment of our current gaffer….

Pissing in the sea…. papering over cracks….. Elastoplast on a gaping flesh wound…. however you dress it up, the problems at SAFC have for many years run much deeper than the bloke stood at the side of the pitch? The tenure of Jack Ross came to a natural end, unpopular opinion but the tenure of Parkinson didn’t come to a natural end, he shouldn’t have been sacked, the only way I’d have agreed with his dismissal would be if we had a plan – like fuck we did, you can change gaffer every month – until the culture of the club improves, (which it will under KLD), there’s absolutely no point in changing, no point whatsoever…

….. game of opinions as always

Lee Johnson….

Regardless of current form, LJ has the chance to succeed where others have failed, I’m not really convinced by team selections and random substitutions, but if we are in the Championship in a month I’ll be cheering along like a fickle arsehole that most fans are, 100%. We were unlucky not to get a point last night, but the fact we were stifled by them putting a few men on McGeady is a worry?

In reality, no one knows what’s going to happen in the next month, I’ve got a good pal who’s opinion is probably the one I respect the most when it comes to football, he’s played professionally and his opinions of dressing rooms, performances, body language etc are my closest, most accurate insight into the professional game…..

Hopefully not and time will tell….. but something has happened?

Back tomorrow with a Plymouth Preview, early night tonight – need to be up for 5.20am 🚢
