Matchday Eve, SAFCBlog Matinee Spezial Edition

Football tomorrow, 33’000 sold already, loads will walk up, given the Premier Concourse is closed, you’d have to think that a 37’500 Full House is very much on the cards? Ordinarily I do an article on the eve of the game, but such is the excitement ahead of tomorrow’s return to stadia, I’ve made the decision to go out and get completely Ant Macpartlined tonight.

I’ve no idea how the game will pan out tomorrow, but whatever happens, it’s good to be back.

See you tomorrow⚽️🔴⚪️⚫️⚽️

I guess in a few months when the clocks have changed and we’re playing someone shit like Walsall in the Freight Rover Trophy, a trip to the SOL may be as appealing as an all inclusive stay at Boko Haram, but for now it’s a very exciting prospect.

Whatever you do, just don’t fucking draw lads – I really can’t face a Tuesday night trip to Fellows Park.

How do we beat Wigan?

Ultimately we will have to score more goals than they do, we lost to them twice last season, they’re stronger now – but it’s all relative and there’s absolutely no reason not to start with 3 points tomorrow.

Tactics……

“Right Lads, listen up…..”

I don’t know a right lot about the Wigan team, obviously there’s 2 exceptions

Charlie Wyke

We paid Wigan a load of cash for Will Grigg – I wish Wyke the same level of success having moved in the opposite direction

Wyke did fantastically well for us last season, regardless of anything 31 goals is a tremendous return. We do however know that he’s slow, he’s not physical for his size, on the other hand he’s very good at heading the ball into the net. There’s no excuse if he scores from a one on one or an unchallenged header tomorrow, if he scores from a ball to feet into the box, fair play to him.

Max Power

I was never a huge fan of him, decent attitude but realistically limited as a player, given he’s moved from an average division 3 club to an average division 3 club that’s not really a criticism. Whilst football management has become more scientific, given how fired up Power will be and his history, there is absolutely no excuse for one of our men not to lay a straightener on him early doors, the fuse is there – it just needs igniting….

It’s a beautiful game etc etc…. But no excuse not to clatter him early doors
