The week ahead
Team selection
Beating Rotherham 3-0 was a perfect start for Tony Mowbray, we weren’t very good at Boro, but to lose Ross Stewart in the warm up was a huge kick in the animal crackers. If reports are correct, we will probably be without him for 10-12 games, it seems highly unlikely we will look at the free agent market, and as alluded to the other day, I think we’ve probably seen the last of The Highland Haaland in a Sunderland shirt? Mowbray has now had a good period of time to assess his squad, crucially the loanees, his team selection on Wednesday is potentially a big moment so early in his tenure at SAFC.
What do I know?
I’d imagine Tony might select his team without reading this? That’s his choice, but that’s not a reason to write about it? There’s always a choice to just write generic shite, but that’s not a choice I’m up for, always best to get back on the horse etc, (* I’m absolutely terrified of horses)
- January 2020….. I wrote to the FA about the conduct of the ballboys at Fleetwood, where that prick Joey Barton had 100% instructed them on how to act dependent on the score of the match. No reply ❌
- February 2022….. I applied in writing for the job as Manager of SAFC after the sacking of Lee Johnson. No reply ❌
- August 2022 ….. I wrote to Tony Mowbray offering him a loan of some shoes and some impartial advise about reputable shoe retailers, (both in the NE and online). No reply ❌
- September 2022….. I wrote to the FA about the conduct of the ballboys at Middlesbrough, whilst it’s only 8 days ago, I asked them to acknowledge receipt of my complaint via email. No reply ❌
Anyway Tony, I’d line up as follows…..
PATTERSON
GOOCH, O’NIEN, BATHH, (someone in place of CIRKIN)
NEIL or EMBLETON, (whoever has trained best), EVANS, MICHUT, (Clarke needs a rest)
DIALLO, PRITCHARD,
SIMS
Revised SAFCBlog Predicts – RFC 1 vs SAFC 3
